COMMON NAME:                                             YARRA / OTWAY SPINY CRAYFISH   

COLOUR:                                                           YARRA - Body dorsally blue or blue/green. Chelae cream to white on adults.
                                                                            OTWAY - Body dorsally brown or red/brown. Chelae cream to orang/red on adults.

LARGEST SIZE OBSERVED:                           8.0 cm CARAPACE LENGTH, 270 gms WEIGHT

INCREASE IN CARAPACE LENGTH AFTER MOULT:
Measuring moult shell and comparing to crayfish approximately 10 days after Moult.

DISTRIBUTION:                                               Southerly flowing streams of  Victoria from the Bunyip/Tarago system
                                                                           in the east to the Gellibrand river of the Otway region in the west.
